DDoS research project
The Berkman Center's Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) research project seeks to understand the ways in which DDoS attacks are becoming a popular technique for limiting access to independent media and human rights sites across the web.
The project has spent several months surveying organizations that might be targeted by DDoS attacks, learning whether and how they’ve been attacked, and conducting follow-up interviews with organizations who have suffered DDoS.
Based on findings from the survey and interview process, the team plans to release a report which will include a set of recommendations that websites can undertake to fend off DDoS attacks.
This project is supported in part by the Open Society Institute.
