Digital Ethics in Times of Crisis: COVID-19 & Access to Education and Learning Spaces
At a moment of unprecedented global challenges, Digital Ethics in Times of Crisis: COVID-19 & Access to Education and Learning Spaces — a three-month research sprint — focused on the societal and ethical aspects of digital transformation and learning.
Held between October 2020 and January 2021, the virtual program convened nearly 40 student participants from 21 countries spread over five continents and paired them with Berkman Klein Center staff and subject matter experts. Through working group sessions, expert speakers, and projects, participants engaged in critical dialogue about education during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
This research sprint was part of the Ethics of Digitalization project led by the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), the Berkman Klein Center, and the Digital Asia Hub, and in collaboration with the Global Network of Internet & Society Centers (NoC).
