Valerie Gomez (she/hers) is a Program Manager for Student Engagement at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society.
In her role, she facilitates a variety of student initiatives such as Research Assistantships, Summer Programs, and Student Leaders in AI (SLAI). Valerie collaborates closely with Harvard students to develop and support student-led efforts that connect individuals across the university, enabling them to explore and share their tech-related interests. In the past, her work included managing research sprints and other dynamic projects engaging the international academic community.
Prior to joining the Berkman Klein Center, Valerie worked in K-12 educational settings addressing the non-academic factors that influence classroom achievement. She then transitioned to higher education, teaching at the School of Social Work at Texas State University. Valerie has also been a visiting scholar in Bogotá, Colombia where she taught the course, The Human Side of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
