Tara Kripowicz Joins Berkman Klein Center as Managing Director

Tara Kripowicz will join the Berkman Klein Center as the Center’s new Managing Director on October 16, 2023, after a nation-wide search.

“Tara is an inspiring leader,” said BKC co-founder Jonathan Zittrain. “We are delighted to have her lead us in fostering more collaboration among BKC’s extraordinary communities and projects and ensuring we can continue to make a difference in a rapidly changing world.”

Tara was most recently the Managing Director of Faculty Support Services at Harvard Law School, leading a large and dynamic team in service of the research and teaching at HLS. She served as a mentor for the HLS Emerging Leaders program, providing professional development opportunities to the extraordinary staff and faculty assistant community. At BKC, Tara will lead the exploration and establishment of operational processes and systems, provide expert support to the effectiveness of Center staff, enhance our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and develop new modes of engagement with core BKC networks. Instrumental in helping move all HLS classes online at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tara will also advise Center leadership on best practices for hybrid workplaces and team culture.

Before coming to HLS, Tara distinguished herself working on teams within MIT Sloan, Wellesley College, and Mass Audubon. At Sloan, Tara worked to develop a pre-COVID pilot work-from-home policy and helped redesign multidirectional employee reviews. She is especially proud to have created universally accessible trails in partnership with Perkins School and state and local partners at two Mass Audubon sanctuaries.
