On the surface, smart cities seem like a good idea. But Berkman Klein affiliate Ben Green emphasizes the potential harms of smart cities in his new book, “The Smart Enough City.” He says cities should not compete to be “smarter” than their peers if all that means is having newer and more powerful technology. Instead, he challenges them to take off the “tech goggles” and build the cities people want to live in.
