I am an Intellectual Property (IP) Attorney and a former Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about regulating the development and deployment of algorithmically powered technologies (e.g., generative AI, deterministic algorithms, and other distributed systems).
I draw on a wealth of practical experience—as a judicial law clerk, as an IP attorney at Fish & Richardson, and as a senior software engineer at Lyft, Cisco, and an Internet-of-Things startup—to support my research on and advocacy for responsible regulations of digital technologies; regulations that address the potential harms of these technologies while ensuring space for innovation. I am also interested in using computational text analysis techniques to facilitate research that derives novel insights into the judiciary of developed, developing, and authoritarian states.
