A Discussion on the United Nations Working Group on Internet Governance

Markus Kummer, head of the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) for the World Summit on the Information Society, visited the Berkman Center today to talk with students, scholars, technologists and advocates and led an informal lunchtime discussion. Kummer will give his perspective on the background to the Working Group as well as his expectations for it. Before becoming Executive Coordinator of the Secretariat supporting WGIG, Kummer was a member of the Swiss delegation during the first phase of the WSIS where he chaired several negotiating groups.
